It had been 9 days since Marty saw doc last, and he didn't know where or when he's been.
All he knows was doc`s time train when to some point in time, seeing as it did temporal displacement.
Marty figured he either went back to the past or was in the future, he simply didn't know.

Marty almost fell asleep when the sound of temporal displacement was heard.

He ran outside to see what it was.
Strangely, it was the delorean.
"what? but it was destroyed." He thought, he looked in the window, no-one was in it.
"What? How?" He wondered, it must have been driven by remote control, much like when it was first being tested back in October.
He opened the door and read a note.

"Dearest Marty, I'm sure your wondering 'Why is the delorean here if it was destroyed'. Well I figured you missed me, and seeing as its probably November now in 1985, I decided to make a new delorean time machine, just for you.
I had it made while on a time trip to the year 1994.
I'm sure you want to come see me but I forgot to write down my current time so you'll have to figure it out." The note ended there.

Marty groaned painfully, finding out where doc was, was going to be a bit of a problem.

He was about to get in when he got shocked from s familiar face.
"Cool car." Said biff from behind.
Marty turned to face him, and realized biff looked different.
"Hey biff, did you get a hair cut?" He asked, it looked like biff had his crew cut back.
"Yeah, I thought it was about time, ya know?" He said, chuckling a little.
"So whatcha been up to today biff?" Marty asked folding the letter and pocketing it.
"Well, I got a lot of family coming and I'd like you to meet them later If you could." He asked hopefully.
Marty`s muscles slackened, "Oh no, more tannen`s?" He thought darkly.
"Uh, I'm not sure, ive .. uh.. got somewhere to be, but maybe at a later time." He said, no pun intended towards 'later time'.
Biff thought about it for a minute, "The brown residence?" He asked.
"Yeah, is that bad?" Marty asked if it were bad.
"Err, well, he and I had a little.. tiff .. back in 1959, but I'm not gonna stop you over something that happened to us in the past." He said letting it go.
"Alright, I'll see ya later." Marty got in the delorean and just went for a drive.

Now he had to start think of where or when doc could be.
There were several items left in the car for some reason.
There was a receipt with a purchase date on it.
"Finally, a clue!" Marty shook with excitement.
It was a minorly long receipt but he was able to get a date.
"Yes! December 1st, 2012! Okay doc, I'm coming for ya!" He sped the delorean to 88 mph and was off to the future.
